Darlene Ann Nelson Duncan, Ponca City resident, died on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at her home. She was 75.
Darlene was born in Winfield, Kansas on July 19, 1935 the daughter of George Hank I. Nelson and Arnette Ann M. Burley Nelson. She grew up in Ponca City and worked for many years in the restaurant industry where she held many positions including cook, waitress, manager and dishwasher. Darlene loved playing bingo, planting flowers and being with her grandchildren. Darlene loved watching PGA on Sunday and all OU and OSU sports. She also enjoyed watching the kids play sports.
She is survived by her son, George D. Duncan sisters, Peggy Epperson and husband, Richard of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Sherry Burdick and husband, Richard of Mulvane, Kansas and one brother, John Nelson of Mannford, Oklahoma grandchildren, Jessica Duncan, Ashley Duncan and Cameron Duncan one great grandson, Kaden SpottedBear as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents son, Donny Duncan sisters, Carla Fike and Rita Caudill and infant twin brothers.
The memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 North Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601.
