Danny Joe Biby, resident of Shidler, passed away Monday, September 7, 2009 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 58. Danny was born August 26, 1951 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to parents, Ralph Lee Biby and Mary Ann Pruett Biby. He grew up in Big Bear, California with summer visits with aunts, uncles and cousins in the Ponca City Area. Danny was a 1969 graduate of Big Bear High School in California. As a child he played baseball, basketball and football. He continued to follow all sporting events from childrens pee wee leagues to professional sports. He enjoyed NASCAR and owned a race car for a time. He loved sitting on a fishing bank or listening to his good friend, Curtis Moore play his songs. Danny married Betty Elam on October 27, 1984. He was employed for 14 years at Trout Elementary School as custodian and later head custodian. He enjoyed having kids from the school recognize him when he was out and about town. He was an avid Cardinals and 49ers fan and his most recent trip was to St. Louis to see the Cardinals play baseball. Dannys main love in life was his dogs. He raised, bred and conditioned American Pitt Bull Terriers for confirmation shows and weight pull events from the U.S. to Japan. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; children, Ray Elam and wife, Rhonda, Joeann Biby and fianc, Lewis, Crystal Biby, Elizabeth Biby and fianc, Adam and Tiffany Biby; grandchildren, Taylan, Catlin, Kodi and Korbyn Jo, Wade, Riley and Adam Dale Biby; sisters, Linda Tyler and Toni Biby and brother, Jimmy Green of Ponca City. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Biby and Mary Ann Green; and niece, Stacie Gittleman. Casket bearers for the service will be Brad Humble, Tommy Johnson, Jacob Biby, Jason Mitchell, Jim Cortese, Eagle Rhodd, Scott Townsend, Steven Walker and Lewis Barham. Honorary casket bearers are Gary Johnson, Mike Elam, Jerry Elam, Virgil Grimm and John Keith. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Ranch Drive Baptist Church in Ponca City with Reverend, Michael Mitchell, First Baptist Church of Davenport, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dannys name to the American Diabetes Association, West Oklahoma Office, 3000 United Founders Boulevard, Suite 108, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112.
