Dakota (Dack) Kent, former Ponca City resident passed away Wednesday February 24, 20-16 in Tulsa, OK. He was 61 years of age. Dack was born September 12, 1954 in Pawnee, OK to Woodrow and Augustine Elk Kent.
Funeral services will be held 2;00 p.m. Sunday February 28, 2016 following the traditional noon feast in the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim White officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponca Indian Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City.
Dack attended school in the Fort Sill Indian School. He worked numerous jobs in the Ponca City area and he mostly enjoyed working for the Ponca Indian Tribe as a laborer. Dack also enjoyed watching all types of Sports.
Survivors include: 4 daughters: Dee Kent and Vashti Karty both of Tulsa, OK Desire Kent of Ponca City, OK and Flora Jean Kent of Shawnee, OK, 2 sons: Dustin Kent and T.J. Calls him both of Ponca City; 3 sisters: Ava Pewewardy of Tulsa, OK. Nellie Roughface of Ponca City, OK and Clona Roubideaux of Pawnee, OK, 1 brother: John Kent of Seminole, Florida and numerous Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Dack was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.
