Craig I. Lieb, former resident of the Ponca City area, passed Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Perry Hospital. He was 71 years of age.
Craig was born October 27, 1941 at Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Henry Irving Lieb and Josephine NoEar Lieb. He attended schools at Pawnee, Chilocco, Marland and Haskell Institute. He was married to Tennia A. Chiles on August 2, 2000 at Miami, Oklahoma. Craig served his country in the United States Army and was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Vietnam Campaign and Service Medals. He was honorably discharged from the Army in November of 1967. He most recently had been employed as a bingo caller. His enjoyments were fishing, playing and calling bingo games, working with wood craft items and following his beloved OU Sooners.
He is survived by his wife, Tennia, of the home five children, Valerie Adams of Ponca City, William Lieb of Grove, Oklahoma, Warren Lieb of Ponca City, June Lieb Martinez, Ponca City, and Steffanie Medrano, Ponca City a niece who was raised like as child, Rosemary McHenry of Tulsa three brothers, Andy Lieb, Curtis Lieb and Henry Lieb one sister, Rose Cuellar 11 grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other numerous other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers, Gilbert and Albert Lieb.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Grace Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow with military honors at the Ponca Indian Tribal Cemetery.
