Clayton CC Conley, resident of Ponca City, passed away at his home on Friday, January 3, 2009. He was 69. Clayton was born November 20, 1939 at Gore Springs, Mississippi, the son of Herman Conley and Myrtis Willis Conley. He received his early education in Grenada, Mississippi High School. He was married to Mary Edwards on December 20, 1957 in Grenada, Mississippi. Clayton was employed from November 15, 1965 to May 1, 1999 with Smith International, retiring as a manager. His enjoyments included hunting, traveling and his work. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; three children, Brenda Jones, Riverside, California, Pierre Conley, Englewood, California and Michelle Balil, Pasadena, California; three brothers, Earl Conley, San Bernardino, California, Carl Conley, Los Angeles, California and Herman Conley Jr., Paramount, California; two sisters, Mary Johnson, Los Angeles, and Odessa Moon, Washington D.C.; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the House of Winston, 9501 South Vermont in Los Angeles. Local arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel, Ponca City.
