Cheryl Kay Bennett, age 66, was called to her heavenly home on November 27th, 2020 due to complications of Covid 19. Her life on this Earth was full of joy, laughter, hard-work, and sacrifice.
Cheryl was the first born of 6 children to Gerald David Boyer and VaDonna Jean McAlister Boyer on September 22nd, 1954 in Ponca City, Ok. She was raised on a farm near Marland, Ok. She enjoyed being in charge of her 5 siblings as they worked the farm and grew up together.
While attending Marland High School, she met the love of her life, Marvin "Butch" Bennett to whom she wed on the 13th day of January 1973. She was a Godly wife that loved her husband dearly. In their 47 years of marriage, they created a loving home where they raised their 2 children. She loved being a mother and was very proud of her children. She instilled lovingness and kind heartedness into them both.
Her life was forever changed with the birth of her first grandchild. Being a grandmother brought her joy beyond words. She loved spoiling her 5 grandchildren and her love for each of them was unmeasurable.
Cheryl had many talents including calligraphy, scrapbooking, making flower arrangements and baking and decorating cakes and cupcakes. She mastered her hobbies and we have all been blessed by the fruits of her labor.
She enjoyed going to a variety of places and making plenty of shopping trips with her sisters and her friends. They always came back with a story.
She was baptized before the Lord in 2013 and was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church women's ministry for several years. She enjoyed decorating for their events and baking her famous cakes and cupcakes for all.
Cheryl retired from Phillips 66 in 2013 after 38 years of service. She made many lifelong friends.
Her smile and laugh were contagious. She radiated the Holy Spirit with her servant heart. She promised she was getting better, but instead has been made perfect.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of the home, Butch Bennett; Children Jered (Irenea) Bennett of Ponca City and Heather (Chris) Raffelson of Stillwater. Grandchildren: Joseph Valentin, Kattie, Maelee and Ethan Bennett, and Hannah Raffelson. Her siblings, Cathy Coffman, Gerald David (Mary Ann) Boyer, Jr; Robert (Jeannette) Boyer, Kimala Boyer, and Steven (Mary) Boyer. Her Aunt Patsy (Jimmy) Smithheiser and Aunt Anita McAlister, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Donna Boyer, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, 2 nieces, and 1 great-niece.
