Carolyn Sauzek

Earth lost a beautiful soul to heaven on Saturday, October 13th, 2018.

Carolyn Sauzek was born on October 18, 1941 to Evelene and Carroll Donley in Oxford, KS. She spent much of her childhood on the farm enjoying her time outdoors and riding horses. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1959, and it was there she met the love of her life, Ed Sauzek. Carolyn and Ed were married on April 16, 1960 and on June 5, 1961 they moved to Ponca City, OK to start a home together. Not long thereafter, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Kimberly, in August 1962. Carolyn worked for the City of Ponca City and Ponca City High School before starting a 13 year career at Conoco. In 1965, their son Devon made his debut (2+ months early nonetheless), completing her lovely family.

Carolyn loved the Lord and family was her cornerstone, always caring for them first. She was an avid reader of her bible, sewed numerous beautiful quilts and enjoyed traveling. With every grandchild and great grandchild, her heart filled with joy.

Carolyn's soft spirit and presence will be missed by all those fortunate enough to be her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Evelene and Carroll Donley.

She is survived by her wonderfully goofy and incredibly caring husband of 58 years, "Eddie", and her children Kimberly Edwards and husband, Jason of Houston, TX and Devon Sauzek and wife Marcia of Edmond, OK. She is also survived by her brother Gary Donley and wife Virginia of Abilene, KS as well as grandchildren, Josh Edwards and wife Whitney, Aimee Edwards, Heather McAtee and Kara Sauzek, and 3 sweet great grandchildren Reese and Cooper Edwards and Emit McAtee, and many, many beautiful friends.

Funeral services will begin at 11 on the morning of October 17, 2018 First Baptist Church of Ponca City. Dr. Michael Taylor will officiate. Mr. Luke Garrison will be the soloist performing "Who Am I" and "You Raise Me Up". Pallbearers for the service will include Josh Edwards, Nathan Sauzek, Donnie Edwards, Eric Edwards, Gary Thompson, and Luther Moore. Honorary bearers include Don Long, Charlie Clegg, Fred Randall, and Donus Parker.
