Carl Pollak

Carl Louis Pollak, resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 at his home. He was 78. Carl was born March 26, 1930 in Edmunds, North Dakota, the son of Louis and Flora Linde Pollak. While living in Ponca City, Carl worked for Vacu-Maid and Gruners Smith International Inc.. He was employed by Clark Truck Lines in Carrington, North Dakota before retiring and moving to Carbon Hill, Alabama. Carl had many enjoyments. He loved all animals from the squirrel monkey he purchased for his children to the dogs he left behind in Carbon Hill, Alabama. Carl loved music and liked to play his harmonica, banjo and accordion. He also loved to take pictures and would take pictures of anyone or anything. He is survived by two daughters, Carla Moulton and husband, Robert of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Cheryl Pendergrass and husband, Paul of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two sons, Carl L. Pollak and wife, Chris and Kurt L. Pollak, both of Ponca City; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris ONeil of Tacoma, Washington; one brother, Harold Pollak of McClusky, North Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith J. Pollak; two sisters, Martha Haggerty and Ella Weekly; and two brothers, Reuben Pollak and Walter Pollak. Honorary casket bearers will be Robert Moulton, James Lance Pollak, Kurt Pollak, Paul Pendergrass, Jeremy Moulton and Robert Warrior. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the Ponca Indian Tribal Cemetery with Pastor, Mark Busch and Brother Louis Headman officiating.
