Bronson "Sonny" Roughface III, resident of Ponca City, passed December 27, 2015 at his home. He was 29 years of age. Bronson was born June 16, 1986 in Ponca City, the son of Bronson Roughface Jr. and Pam (Eagleshield) Roughface.
Bronson attended the Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He had been employed with the Otoe-Missouria Tribe as a Wildland Firefighter. His enjoyments included fishing, playing Shinny and horseshoes.
He is survived by his parents, Bronson Roughface Jr. and Pam Roughface; his children, Faith Harrison, Anthony Harrison, Kuhaya Whitehorse and Brazia DeRoin; his companion Leslie Nicole Hudson; his siblings, Branden Roughface, Clayton Roughface, Aleyna Lieb, Sheyna Lieb and Sarah Roughface; his step-mother, Jeannie Roughface; step-sister Jessica Duncan; step-brothers Nick and Cliff Crull; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Miracle Nicole Hudson; grandpa Bronson Roughface Sr., grandma Vivian Blueback, grandpa Richard "Dickie" Eagleshield and grandma Charlotte Morris.
Prayer services will be held Wednesday and Thursday evening at 7 p.m. December 30th and 31st at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church. A noon meal will be served on New Year's Day, January 1, 2016 Ponca Tribal Cultural Center with the funeral service to follow in the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church with Bro. Jimmy White presiding. Burial will be in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers are Lonnie Roy, Baby Jose Baeza, Royce Forte, Brandon Corrington Lieb, Buddy Williams and Lawrence LeClair. Honorary casket bearers are Albert Primeaux, Jeff Hernandez, Timothy Primeaux, Johnny Poore, Nelson Roughface, Hawley Tsoodle, Gary Burris and Frank Overland.
