Bobby Spore

Bobby Gene Spore, resident of Ponca City, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 81 years of age.

Bobby was born May 11, 1929 in Ponca City, the son of Levi Ray Spore and Flossie Mae Levings Spore. His early education was received in the Ponca City Schools. He was married to Joyce Ilene Stauber on February 9, 1953 in California. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and then later serving in the United States Navy. Bobby was employed through the years as a Meat Cutter, having lived most of his life in the Los Angeles, California area. He retired in 1995 at which time he moved to Ponca City to be close to his brothers and other family members. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His enjoyments included playing golf, bowling and fishing.

He is survived by his three children, Michael Spore and wife, Jeri, of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Mark Spore of Northridge, California and Krystin Goethals and husband, Vic, of Valencia, California two brothers, Donald Spore and wife, Emily, of Ponca City and Wayne Spore and wife, Juanita, of Kansas one sisterinlaw, Cleta Spore of Ponca City four grandchildren, Kara Spore, Greg Spore, Kaitlyn Spore and Azure Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers, Alvin Leroy Spore and Jett Simpson three sisters, Beulah Storto, Dorothy Morrison and LaVera Johns five nephews, Carl Ray Spore, Phillip Spore, Larry Dean Spore, Alvin Johns and Greg Leonetti and other extended family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latterday Saints, 2408 East Hartford Ave., Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
