Bobby Joe Little Man McDonald, resident of Arkansas City, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Arkansas City, Kansas. He was 82. Bobby was born the son of Howard Joe McDonald and Beulah Eva Harris McDonald on November 24, 1926 in Pilot Point, Texas. Bobby was employed with the New Caney School District in New Caney, Texas where he touched the lives of many children and was loved by many. After 20 years of service he retired. He preached the gospel and wrote songs portraying his love for God. During his last days, gospel music gave him peace and comfort. No matter what in life befell him, Bobby always had a smile and a kind word. He never knew a stranger and many people were drawn to his gentle ways. Bobby was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his eldest daughter, Sharon Allen and husband, Richard of Ponca City, Oklahoma, middle daughter, Shirley Mears and husband, Cornelius of Cross Plains, Tennessee and son, Danny Joe McDonald of Paducah, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Vickie Robinson, Eric Self, Martin Self, Misty Whitlock and Scott Joe McDonald; 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He is preceded in death his parents. The family would like to give thanks to Hospice and Medicalodge Nursing Home of Kansas for the love and care they provided in his last days.
