Alma Re Dooley, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday morning, March 10, 2011 at the Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 83 years of age.

Alma was born February 29, 1928 in the Big Bend community West of Ralston, Oklahoma. Her parents were William Hutchison and Nancy Hamby Hutchison. She was a 1946 graduate of Fairfax High School. She was married to Alph Dooley on March 27, 1957 in Newkirk, with the couple establishing their home in Ponca City.

She was employed several years with the Kress Store in Ponca City and from 1985 to 1994 for WalMart. Almas enjoyments included her grandson Cooper, watching and visiting with people and she was an avid Oklahoma University football fan.

She is survived by her son, Alan Dooley, and wife, Barbara, of Ponca City one grandson, Cooper Dooley numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband 5 brothers, Bus, Jack, Troy, Chud and James 2 sisters, Thelma Grimm and Wilma Sargent.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Crestview Baptist Church East of Ponca City on Highway 60. Hospice Chaplain Tom Howard presiding over the service under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
