Alan Lee Blueback, White Eagle resident, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 57 years old. Alan was born on May 4, 1952 to Eugene Brown and Sylvenia Blueback in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He married Catherine Louise Garriott on February 10, 1994 at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. Alan had many enjoyments. He liked playing dominoes and bingo and was an avid shinny player. Alan enjoyed watching wrestling and watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Washington Redskins play; he loved his church family, telling stories and cooking for the Hethuska, something he enjoyed for over 25 years. He loved being with his family, especially his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Blueback; children, Abbie Blueback, Evelyn Rojas, Jamie LeClair, Skylar Blueback, Arthur Blueback, Crystal Blueback, Archie Lowe, Natasha Watchman and Althea Watchman; aunt, Mable LeClair; uncle, Albert Blackcole; mother-in-law, Sandra Ross; mama Marlene; numerous grandchildren; brothers and sisters; and his special friend, Neiman Roy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Sylvenia; and one sister, Debra Bussey. Casket bearers for the service will be Leon Hernandez, Jeff Hernandez, Jose Beaza, Nolan Blueback, C.J. Cornell and Hawley Tsoodle. Honorary casket bearers are Harry Blueback, Bronson Roughface Jr., Jessie LeClair, Joe LeClair, Levi Martinez, Tommy Blueback, Chauncey Blueback, Robbie Blueback, Jerome West, Jack Hernandez Jr., Brandon Roughface, Bonifacio Rojas, Dwight DeLodge and John DeHart. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church with Brother, Jimmy White officiating. Burial will follow at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. A traditional noon meal and feast will be held before the funeral service. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and to Ponca City Dialysis.
